Introduction of Speaker

by Mike McDonald

About the Preclinic:

As a follow-up from September's meeting, Steve Zylka will review information that Jack Hamilton received at an IAOB (International Automotive Oversight Bureau) Boot Camp on the updated standards.

About the Main Topic:

Mike will speak about what is Variation and where it exists, not only in manufacturing but in other areas of society such as government and social science.  We hear a lot of data in the news but it's meaning is often misunderstood or under-represented.

The QUINCUNX machine is a unique device that demonstrates the Normal Distribution.
The demonstration should interest students studying Lean/ Six Sigma or Logistics.

About our Speaker: Mike McDonald is a long time member and former Chair of ASQ Section 0904.
