About the Preclinic:
About the Program:
The presentation will focus on
some challenges of organizing a plant-wide calibration program after a business
has been functioning for several years. This
will include some discussion of the frustrations and successes in such a
process. If time allows, some
helpful information about adjusting calibration intervals will be presented.
About our Speaker:
Roy Mitchel is the Calibration Coordinator for Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA) in Lafayette, Indiana. In addition to calibration, Roy has worked in Production, Material Handling and Supplier Quality Assurance in his 24+ years at SIA. Roy has been involved with plant-wide calibration at SIA since 1994 when SIA was pursuing certification to ISO9000. Prior to Subaru, Roy worked as a precision machinist in the medical device industry, a Tool and Die Maker, assembly and quality control in several RV assembly plants, mastered several jobs in fiberglass molding facilities, performed machine set-up and operation in a metal stamping shop and was a night manager in a motel.
Roy is a senior member of ASQ and is
active in Section 0917. Roy holds 3 ASQ certifications: CQT, CQE and CCT.
On a personal note, Roy & Susan,
his wife of 30 years have 2 grown sons who are graduates of Purdue University.
